Basketball Recap: Legend Finds Playoff Glory Versus Riverdale Ridge

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Legend had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They walked away with a 59-50 victory over the Riverdale Ridge Ravens. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 64-58 back in January.

Legend's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Mason Borcherding, who went 7-for-8 en route to 17 points. What's more, Borcherding also posted an 88% field goal percentage, which is the highest she's achieved since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Maley Wilhelm, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and nine rebounds.

Legend has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.5 points over those games. Riverdale Ridge moved to 21-6 with that defeat, which also ended their 14-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Legend will square off against Grandview at 1:15 p.m. on Saturday. Grandview will roll in looking for their 19th straight win, something Legend surely won't give up without a fight. Riverdale Ridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
