On Tuesday, Thomas Jefferson didn't have quite enough to beat Rangeview and fell 3-2. The Spartans have struggled against the Raiders recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.
Thomas Jefferson took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 29-27, 22-25, 22-25, 25-23, 15-11.

Despite the loss, Thomas Jefferson got top-tier performance from Hassan Almutkassi, who had 17 digs and three aces. Almutkassi has been hot recently, having posted two or more aces the last four times he's played.
Meanwhile, Eaglecrest faced Mountain Vista in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Raptors came up short against the Golden Eagles, falling 3-0. The Raptors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
While Eaglecrest ultimately came up short, they really made Mountain Vista work, particularly in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 25-17, 25-23.
Eaglecrest's defeat dropped their record down to 19-4. As for Thomas Jefferson, their loss dropped their record down to 14-9.
