Preview: Breaux Bridge Tigers vs. Beau Chene Gators
Breaux Bridge is 7-0 against Beau Chene since October of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Breaux Bridge Tigers will look to defend their home field against the Beau Chene Gators at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Breaux Bridge is not getting complacent, as they comes into the match much higher ranked than Beau Chene in Louisiana (Breaux Bridge is ranked 114th, while Beau Chene is ranked 248th).
After only 12 points in their last matchup, Breaux Bridge made sure to put some points up on the board against Kinder on Thursday. Breaux Bridge walked away with a 46-36 win over Kinder.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Breaux Bridge to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kelby Hypolite, who rushed for 109 yards on only 13 carries, and also threw for 121 yards and two touchdowns. Hypolite is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last five games he's played. Cristian Matthews was another key contributor, rushing for 89 yards and three touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Beau Chene's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They were dealt a 48-3 defeat at the hands of Cecilia. Beau Chene was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-0.
Breaux Bridge's win lifted them to 3-4 while Beau Chene's loss dropped them down to 1-6.
Everything came up roses for Breaux Bridge against Beau Chene in their previous meeting back in October of 2022 as the squad secured a 42-6 win. Will Breaux Bridge repeat their success, or does Beau Chene have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
