Softball Preview: Liberty Hurricanes vs. Notre Dame-Green Pond Crusaders

After two games on the road, Liberty is heading back home. They will take on the Notre Dame-Green Pond Crusaders at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Two weeks ago, Liberty had just enough and edged Pleasant Valley out 4-2.

Meanwhile, Notre Dame-Green Pond had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.5 runs), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They skirted past the Warriors 5-3.

Rachel Fisher was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off eight hits (and not a single walk). Fisher was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with a home run.

In other batting news, Skyler Howlett was incredible, going 2-for-4 with a home run, three RBI, and a double. Natalie Lilly was another key contributor, scoring a run while going 1-for-4.

The victory got Liberty back to even at 1-1. As for Notre Dame-Green Pond, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.
