Volleyball Recap: Doherty Takes a Loss

Doherty was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Cheyenne Mountain Red-Tailed Hawks. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Red-Tailed Hawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in March.

The final score came out to 25-14, 25-13, 25-20.

Ryan Kaiser paced Doherty's offense, picking up eight kills. Kaiser got some help from Elijah Morrison and his 16 assists. Kaiser was also solid from the service line: he led the team with two aces.

Doherty's loss dropped their record down to 4-18. As for Cheyenne Mountain, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-6.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Doherty will square off against rival Mesa Ridge at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Cheyenne Mountain is set to take on their familiar foe Coronado at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
