Basketball Recap: Saucon Valley Panthers vs. Notre Dame-Green Pond Crusaders
After a string of four wins, the Saucon Valley Panthers's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They lost to Notre Dame-Green Pond on the road by a decisive 57-39 margin. While losing is never fun, Saucon Valley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 358th, while the Crusaders are ranked 113th).
Saucon Valley lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Adam Clark, who scored seven points along with eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Constantine Donahue, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Saucon Valley's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-7. As for Notre Dame-Green Pond, they pushed their record up to 14-2 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home.
Saucon Valley will take on the Slaters at 12:45 p.m. on Saturday. As for Notre Dame-Green Pond, they will head out on the road to face off against the Green Knights at 12:45 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Pen Argyl focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Thursday.
