Soccer Game Preview: Pinkston vs. Roosevelt

Pinkston has gone 9-0-1 against Roosevelt recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Pinkston Vikings will challenge the Roosevelt Mustangs at 11:30 a.m. Pinkston's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

On Monday, Pinkston came up short against A Plus Academy and fell 3-1.

Pinkston's goal came courtesy of Jose Joel Rangel, who's now up to 26 this season.

Meanwhile, Saturday just wasn't the day for Roosevelt's offense. They lost 4-0 to Conrad on Saturday. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 762nd, while the Chargers are ranked 288th).

Roosevelt has also been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season. Pinkston's defeat dropped their record down to 10-8-1.

Pinkston took their win against Roosevelt when the teams last played back in February by a conclusive 3-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Pinkston since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
