Softball Recap: West Texas Comanches vs. Gruver Greyhounds
If West Texas was riding high fresh off their 20-1 takedown of Booker on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. West Texas took a 12-9 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Gruver Greyhounds on Saturday. The Comanches were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Greyhounds apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.
Haven Lee spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and eight unearned) runs on nine hits. What's more, she gave up only one walk, the fewest she's had since back in March of 2024.

At the plate, Chloe Jett made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March of 2024. Mackenzie Elliott was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.
West Texas' defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Gruver, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-4.
