Softball Recap: Rio Linda Takes a Loss

Rio Linda lost against Casa Roble back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Knights fell just short of the Rams by a score of 6-5.

Lilly Rouse and Nakayla Williams stepped up to the plate in a big way. Rouse went 2-for-3 with two RBI, while Williams scored a run while going 2-for-3. Williams also put up a double, which was her first of the season.

Rio Linda's defeat dropped their record down to 12-5. As for Casa Roble, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5-1 record this season.

The future could be bright for both Rio Linda and Casa Roble: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. The Knights will try to hand Tranquillity their eighth-straight loss when the two meet at 2:15 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Casa Roble will look to extend Del Campo's five-game losing streak when they meet at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
