Volleyball Recap: Lytle Takes a Loss

After flying high against Poteet on Friday, Lytle came back down to earth. The Pirates came up short against the Crystal City Javelinas on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The loss continues a trend for the Pirates in their meetings with the Javelinas: they've now lost nine in a row.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-20, 25-14.

Among those leading the charge was Alyssa Flores, who had 18 digs and six assists. Those six assists gave her a new career-high.

Lytle's defeat dropped their record down to 11-23. As for Crystal City, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 24-6.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Lytle will take on rival Hondo at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Crystal City is set to face off against their familiar foe Poteet at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
