Softball Recap: Cy-Fair Wins Going Away Against Cypress Falls

Cy-Fair won the last time they faced Cypress Falls and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Bobcats were the clear victors by a 10-1 margin over the Eagles. Considering the Bobcats have won 11 games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Kathryn Kram spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up 16 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Cori Figgs was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Addyson Elrod, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-4.

The win made it two in a row for Cy-Fair and bumps their season record up to 18-8. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 1 runs in those games. As for Cypress Falls, their loss was their eighth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-17.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Cy-Fair is set to square off against their familiar foe Northbrook at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Cypress Falls will challenge rival Cypress Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
