Basketball Recap: Montello Comes Up Short

Montello was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Tomahawk Hatchets, falling 59-39. While losing is never fun, the Hilltoppers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 445th, while the Hatchets are ranked 210th).

Montello's defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Tomahawk, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-3 record.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Montello will head out to face off against Necedah at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Tomahawk, they are taking a road trip to square off against Merrill at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
