League recap: League lead hangs in balance for Ridgewood, Wesley Chapel this week

5A District 8 league recap: 3/8/13

First place in 5A District 8 standings is up for grabs this week, as Wesley Chapel sits just 1 game back of Ridgewood.

The Wildcats had a successful week, as they won two total games to lead the league. Wesley Chapel beat Fivay 4-1.

The Rams boasted the best pitching over the past week, holding opponents to the league's fewest hits and issuing the fewest walks.

The league boasted seven .400 hitters over the past week. They were led by Christien Thomas, who hit .750 this week (6-for-8).

Ridgewood's Tim Osborne finished his week with six hits, tops in the league. On the season, he's hitting .441 and ranks first in the league with 15 hits.



Blaine Duncan struck out eight in Pasco's 8-6 win over Zephyrhills on March 1. Over his three innings pitched he allowed three runs on two hits.
