Baseball Recap: Bath County Comes Up Short

If Bath County was feeling good fresh off their 10-4 takedown of Pendleton County last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wildcats came up short against the Rowan County Vikings on Monday, falling 9-3. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wildcats of the 11-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Bath County saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Memphis Beadle, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Bath County has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-10-1 record this season. As for Rowan County, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-6.

While Bath County had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
