Naugatuck came into Friday's contest looking for another win against Holy Cross, but Alexa Ruggia wouldn't allow it. The Crusaders came out on top against the Greyhounds by a score of 3-1 on Friday with plenty of help from Ruggia, who had 29 digs. She has been hot, having posted 18 or more digs the last five times she's played.

Holy Cross had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 11-25, 25-12, 25-23, 25-19.

Holy Cross is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. Having lost for the first time this season, Naugatuck fell to 15-1.
