Kirtland scaled the state rankings by moving to 71 from 101 this week, the biggest jump in Chagrin Valley - Valley. The Hornets climbed the ranks as a result of topping Aquinas 49-21.
Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, Kirtland beat the Knights 49-21. The victory was the 12th in a row for Tiger (Phillip) Laverde's team.
Kirtland's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Hornets feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Sam Skiljan has thrown for 1,262 yards and 19 touchdowns this season, while Matthew Finkler has 21 catches for 440 yards.
The Hornets took down Aquinas 49-21 last week, the largest margin of any game. Adam Hess ran for 144 yards during the win.
