Basketball Game Preview: Burlington-Edison Tigers vs. Lakewood Cougars

Burlington-Edison lost 64-40 to Lynden on Friday. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Lions recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Lakewood beat Sehome 54-50 on Friday. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 57th, while the Mariners are ranked 212th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lakewood's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-4. As for Burlington-Edison, their loss dropped their record down to 8-5.

Burlington-Edison came up short against Lakewood in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, falling 79-67. Can Burlington-Edison avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
