Softball Recap: Tyler Comes Up Short

Tyler was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss. They lost 14-5 to the Mt. Pleasant Tigers. The Lions were not able to make up for their defeat to the Tigers from their previous meeting back in March of 2024.

Aamiyah Warren made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Maria Cocolon, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1.

Tyler's loss dropped their record down to 1-14. As for Mt. Pleasant, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-8-1 record this season.

Tyler and Mt. Pleasant could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Tyler will face off against Marshall at 5:00 p.m. on Friday down 607 places (1045 vs. 438). Similarly, Mt. Pleasant (ranked 342nd) will meet Hallsville (ranked 75th) at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
