Football Recap: Picayune Keeps Pearl River Central's Under Pressure

Picayune was the 48-7 winner over Pearl River Central when they last played one another back in November of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Maroon Tide fell 28-21 to the Blue Devils on Thursday. The game marked the Maroon Tide's lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Even if they lost, Picayune's defense still kept up the pressure with three sacks. Mario Monson refused to say out of the backfield, picking up a sack all by himself.

Titus Feaster continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Pearl River Central, rushing for 71 yards and two touchdowns, while also throwing for 284 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 12.3 yards per attempt. Qorday Russell was Feaster's top target, picking up 126 receiving yards and one score.

Picayune's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 8-2. As for Pearl River Central, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-3.

Picayune does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Pearl River Central, they will take on Hattiesburg at 7:00 p.m. on the 14th. The Blue Devils will need to watch out since the Tigers have now posted at least 31 points in their last six matchups.
