Soccer Game Preview: Poly vs. Citrus Hill

The Poly Bears will venture away from home to challenge the Citrus Hill Hawks at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Poly's last five games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Poly gave up the first goal last Thursday, but they didn't let that get them down. They had just enough and edged Hemet out 2-1. Given the Bears' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 100th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 971st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Julious Perez and Tito Perez scored both of Poly's goals, bringing their combined season tally to three goals.

Meanwhile, after soaring to five goals the game before, Citrus Hill was a bit more limited in their matchup on Thursday. They came up short against Valley View, falling 5-0.

Poly's victory bumped their record up to 10-4-2. As for Citrus Hill, they now have a losing record at 4-5-8.

Poly beat Citrus Hill 3-1 in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Poly since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
