Softball Recap: The Academy Wildcats vs. Lyons Lions
After flying high against Florence on Saturday, The Academy came back down to earth. The Academy Wildcats took a 13-9 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lyons Lions on Saturday. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September.
Keara Pogue was cooking despite her team's loss, going 4-for-5 with four RBI, a triple, and a run. The team also got some help courtesy of Mackenzie Pearson, who scored two runs while going 2-for-5.
Even though they lost, The Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .382. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .310 or higher in six consecutive games.
The Academy's loss dropped their record down to 17-8. As for Lyons, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-8.
