Baseball Game Preview: Saratoga Springs Blue Streaks vs. Niskayuna Silver Warriors

For the first time this season, Saratoga Springs will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will head out on the road to challenge the Niskayuna Silver Warriors at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. Saratoga Springs' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so Niskayuna's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Saratoga Springs is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Colonie Central just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They took an 8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wolfpack.

Jack Rigabar put in work while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in May of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

Rigabar wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Adam Weiss, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.

Meanwhile, Niskayuna gave up the first runs on Wednesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They came out on top against Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake by a score of 6-1.

Saratoga Springs' defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Niskayuna, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
