Baseball Game Preview: Wapahani Raiders vs. Eastbrook Panthers

The Wapahani Raiders will face off against the Eastbrook Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Wapahani is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.5 runs per game this season.

Wapahani is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They never let Blackford get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. The Raiders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by eight runs or more this season.

Eli Andrews was incredible, going 2-for-3 with five RBI and two runs. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Quentine James was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Eastbrook had just enough and edged out Madison-Grant 4-3 on Saturday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.

Austin Mikel spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on seven hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Malakai Luthy, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Carter Daugherty, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Wapahani is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Eastbrook, their record now sits at 17-11.

Wapahani took their win against Eastbrook in their previous meeting back in April by a conclusive 13-3 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Raiders since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
