Easton Belfiore Turns in Season-Best Effort

On Friday, Brookville got the W thanks in part to Easton Belfiore playing the best football he has all season. Belfiore rushed for 87 yards and three touchdowns on only six carries, and also picked up 50 receiving yards and a touchdown. The performance marked the most rushing yards he has had since back in August.

The victory snapped Brookville's losing streak at six games and leaves them with a 2-6 record. Belfiore and Brookville will square off against Port Allegany on Friday.

Jase Ferguson's Big Game Leads Central Clarion [Clarion/Clarion-Limestone/North Clarion] over Punxsutawney

Central Clarion [Clarion/Clarion-Limestone/North Clarion] picked up their eighth consecutive win on Friday thanks in part to Jase Ferguson. Ferguson turned in nothing short of a gem, throwing for 334 yards and four touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes, and also rushing for 66 yards and two touchdowns. He is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for four or more in the last four games he's played dating back to last season.

Punxsutawney's probably not too fond of Ferguson given he always seems to get the better of them. Back in September of 2023 (the last time Ferguson saw Punxsutawney), he threw for 279 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 12.7 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 97 yards on only 13 carries.

Kolton Griffin Puts an End to Brookville's Losing Streak on Friday

Thanks in part to Kolton Griffin, Brookville said goodbye to their six-game losing streak. On Friday Griffin rushed for 180 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 carries, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process.

On the year, Griffin has run in those 2 touchdowns while averaging 38.5 rushing yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after eight games last season, he was only averaging 20 rushing yards per game.

Sankey Made His Presence Known in Moniteau's 48-8 Defeat

While Moniteau might've come up empty on Friday, Brendin Sankey wasn't going down without a fight. Sankey was dynamite, throwing for 146 yards and a touchdown, while also rushing for 52 yards.

Moniteau is on a 16-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8. Sankey and Moniteau will head out to challenge Union/Allegheny-Clarion Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Hunter Scherer Makes Top Five

Rounding off our Top Five is Hunter Scherer of Karns City. Scherer picked up 78 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 68 yards and a touchdown.

Karns City is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. Scherer and Karns City will take on Keystone on Friday.
