Baseball Game Preview: Appoquinimink Jaguars vs. John Carroll Patriots

The Appoquinimink Jaguars will head out on the road to face off against the John Carroll Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Appoquinimink is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another highly-ranked state team: Malvern Prep, who was ranked sixth in their home state at the time (Appoquinimink was ranked 22nd). The Jaguars came up short against the Friars on Wednesday, falling 8-1. The matchup marked the Jaguars' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, John Carroll got themselves on the board against Archbishop Curley on Monday, but Archbishop Curley never followed suit. They blew past the Friars 10-0. The result was nothing new for the Patriots, who have now won eight contests by six runs or more so far this season.

John Carroll got a great performance from Pierce Quinn as he didn't allow a single earned run over 5.1 innings pitched. Quinn has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

Appoquinimink has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. As for John Carroll, their win bumped their record up to 15-9.
