Basketball Recap: Moorcroft Comes Up Short

Moorcroft was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They were dealt a 57-18 defeat at the hands of the Sundance Bulldogs. If the Wolves were looking for revenge after losing 55-22 to them when the teams met back in February of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

London McCrea was Moorcroft's leading scorer, having posted six points. McCrea also led the team in assists with three. Talia Vargas held things down on the boards with eight rebounds.

Sundance got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jaylin Mills out in front who posted ten points and seven boards. What's more, Mills also racked up three assists, the most she's had since back in January of 2024. Halyn Cooney was another key player, putting up eight points and seven rebounds.

Moorcroft's loss dropped their record down to 3-15. As for Sundance, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season.

Moorcroft didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 47-32 defeat against Niobrara County on the 8th. As for Sundance, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 41-27 loss against Tongue River on the 8th.
