Timberland has gone a perfect 8-0 against Woodland recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Wolves will be playing at home against the Wolverines at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Woodland will be up against a hot Timberland squad: the team just extended their winning streak to seven. Everything went the Wolves' way against Palmetto Scholars Academy last Friday as they made off with a 16-4 victory.
Timberland got a massive performance out of Addison Sellars, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Emilee Waters was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two doubles.
Timberland was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .567. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in ten consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, after only one run in their last game, Woodland made sure to put some runs up on the board against Wagener-Salley on Thursday. The Wolverines put the hurt on the War Eagles with a sharp 15-1 win. The Wolverines haven't had any issues with the War Eagles recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Corinne Westbury made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off seven hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single walk in three consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two triples, three runs, and one RBI. Those triples marked the first that she has hit this season.
In other batting news, Jordan Mccarthy was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Sara Grace Milligan, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
Timberland pushed their record up to 7-6 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.7 runs over those games. As for Woodland, their win bumped their record up to 6-4.
Tuesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Timberland has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .593. However, it's not like Woodland struggles in that department as they've averaged .493. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Timberland took their victory against Woodland when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 6-0 score. Will the Wolves repeat their success, or do the Wolverines have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
