Football Recap: Norwayne's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Norwayne entered their tilt with Smithville on Friday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They walked away with a 24-16 win over the Smithies. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Bobcats also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

Jacob Bruner threw for 169 yards on 12 of 18 attempts. Ryder Ingold was his top target, picking up 78 receiving yards. On the ground, Chaz Maxwell rushed for 144 yards and a pair of scores.

Norwayne's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Smithville, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-2.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Norwayne will challenge rival Hillsdale at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Smithville is set to square off against their familiar foe Chippewa at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
