Baseball Recap: Donna Picks Up Second Consecutive Win

Donna never let their opponents score on Monday. They didn't even let the Pace Vikings on the board, marking the Redskins' second-straight 1-0 shutout. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 1-0 last Tuesday.

Max Torres looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in February.

At the plate, Ronaldo Bocanegra was incredible, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jimenez Alan, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

The win made it two in a row for Donna and bumps their season record up to 10-7. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of one runs across that stretch. As for Pace, their defeat was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-12.

Donna wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 12-5 loss against Weslaco East on the 1st. As for Pace, they have also already played their next game, a 10-0 defeat against Porter on the 1st.
