Baseball Recap: Mound-Westonka Takes a Loss

Mound-Westonka fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Benilde-St. Margaret on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Red Knights by a score of 4-3. The White Hawks haven't had much luck with the Red Knights recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Isaac Aud spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits.

On the hitting side, Mound-Westonka saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jameson Damato, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Mound-Westonka's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Benilde-St. Margaret's, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mound-Westonka will challenge Southwest Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Benilde-St. Margaret's, they will take on St. Louis Park at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
