Basketball Game Preview: Kenton Ridge Cougars vs. Indian Lake Lakers

The Kenton Ridge Cougars will head out to challenge the Indian Lake Lakers at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Kenton Ridge is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Tecumseh on Saturday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Kenton Ridge had to suffer through a 76-37 loss at the hands of Tecumseh. The Cougars were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 46-19.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Alaina Mcfadden, who posted 18 points. Those 18 points gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Danielle Brownlee, who earned five points along with eight rebounds and three steals.

Meanwhile, Indian Lake had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21.3 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Monday. They had just enough and edged the Presidents out 48-45.

Kenton Ridge has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season. As for Indian Lake, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.

Kenton Ridge took a serious blow against Indian Lake when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 48-11. Can Kenton Ridge avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
