Football Recap: Boonville Falls Despite Big Games from Bradyn Egli and Grant Davis

Boonville was the 35-15 winner over Washington when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Pioneers fell 26-14 to the Hatchets on Friday. Despite 53 more yards than the Hatchets, the Pioneers couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

Boonville's loss came despite strong showings from Grant Davis and Bradyn Egli. Davis gained 139 total yards and a touchdown, while Egli picked up 59 receiving yards and one score.

Washington's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Cooper Wright, who threw for 190 yards and a pair of TDs on only ten passes. What's more, Wright racked up 152.1 passer rating, the most he's had since back in August of 2024. Cordell Turner was in the mix too, providing Washington with two touchdowns.

This is the second loss in a row for Boonville and nudges their season record down to 3-3. As for Washington, the victory also got them back to even at 3-3.

Coming up, Boonville will head out on the road to take on Princeton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Pioneers will need to watch out since the Tigers have now posted at least 31 points in their last three games. As for Washington, they will welcome Gibson Southern at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Titans will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Hatchets surely won't give up without a fight.
