Baseball Recap: Reedley Takes Down Immanuel in a Playoff Battle

It's playoff time, and Reedley had no trouble coming through when it counted. They had just enough and edged out the Immanuel Eagles 5-4 on Friday. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 6-5 win back in April.

Reedley let Alex Rodriguez and Andres Razo run wild. Rodriguez went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double, while Razo went 1-for-4 with one home run. Rodriguez has become a key player for Reedley: the team is undefeated when he posts at least three hits, but 8-13 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Cole Betancourt, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Reedley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in March.

Reedley's win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-13. As for Immanuel, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-12 record this season.

Reedley will head out to square off against Pioneer Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Immanuel does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
