Baseball Recap: Vintage Has No Trouble Against Sonoma Valley

Vintage won the last time they faced Sonoma Valley and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Crushers put the hurt on the Dragons with a sharp 11-2 victory. Considering the Crushers have won five contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

John Bullock spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up eight Ks.

On the hitting side, Lucas Henry was a standout: he scored two runs while going 2-for-2. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Sam Mautner, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Henry wasn't the only one making solid contact: Vintage kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. The Crushers are 5-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Vintage's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-5. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Sonoma Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-12.

Vintage will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Dragons: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
