Softball Game Preview: Staunton River Golden Eagles vs. Northside Vikings

Staunton River has gone 8-2 against Northside recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Golden Eagles will host the Vikings at 7:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Staunton River is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to ten runs on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Franklin County on Friday. They lost 9-1 to the Eagles. The loss continues a trend for the Golden Eagles in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost three in a row.

Payton Chewning made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run. She is on a roll when it comes to home runs, as she's now launched at least one in each of the last three games she's played.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Northside's offense. They came up short against Franklin County on Tuesday, falling 14-0.

Staunton River's defeat dropped their record down to 13-5. As for Northside, their loss dropped their record down to 5-11.
