Softball Recap: Nickerson Takes a Loss

Nickerson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 15th straight defeat. They took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Oxford Wildcats.

Shalie Powell was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double. That triple was her first of the season. Brylee Squires was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one triple and two RBI.

Nickerson's loss dropped their record down to 4-15. As for Oxford, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-3.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Wildcats beat Nickerson by a score of 8-7 later that day.
