Football Recap: Mt. Carmel Extends Winning Streak to Three

Mt. Carmel had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. Everything went their way against the Paris Tigers as they made off with a 27-6 victory. The Golden Aces have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Tigers, too.

Mt. Carmel found their leader in sophomore River Deisher, who rushed for 187 yards and one TD while picking up 9.8 yards per carry, and also threw for 106 yards and one touchdown while completing 87.5% of his passes. Those 187 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for Deisher. Shain Meador was in the mix too, providing Mt. Carmel with two scores.

Mt. Carmel now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Paris, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 3-2.

Coming up, Mt. Carmel will take on Richland County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Golden Aces will need to watch out since the Tigers have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season. As for Paris, they will face off against Newton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
