After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Greenville, Hillsboro was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the North Mac Panthers as they made off with a 12-2 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Hiltoppers considering their two-run performance the match before.
Lainey Lessman was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
In other batting news, Peyton Chappelear was a standout: she fired off two home runs and three runs while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Briley Kirby was another key player, going 3-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and one double.
