Softball Recap: Paintsville Comes Up Short

Paintsville had lost three straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 8-13 to make it four. They lost 9-2 to the Floyd Central Jaguars. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Jaguars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 back in March.

Paintsville saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maggie Music, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

As for Floyd Central, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.4 runs over those games.

On Floyd Central's side, Cadyn Roberson was a standout: she went a perfect 1-for-1 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most runs Roberson has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Delilah Rodriguez, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Paintsville has already played their next matchup (against Perry County Central), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Floyd Central also has no score uploaded for their next game, this one against Betsy Layne.
