Basketball Game Preview: Tanner Rattlers vs. Lexington Golden Bears + Official Tickets

For the first time this season, Tanner will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will host the Lexington Golden Bears at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Tanner has given up an average of 64.7 points per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Tanner is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against West Morgan on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Rattlers had to suffer through an 83-51 loss at the hands of the Rebels. The Rattlers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The losing side was boosted by Rick Seights Jr, who shot 41% from the field to rack up 16 points and eight rebounds. His big performance that evening made it seven games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Matthew Fletcher, who posted ten points in addition to five assists and five boards.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lexington). They came out on top against Phil Campbell by a score of 80-72 on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Golden Bears.

Tanner now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Lexington, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.

Tanner didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Lexington in their previous matchup back in February, but they still walked away with a 70-65 win. Do the Rattlers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Golden Bears turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
