It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Champion ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 win over the Howland Tigers. The victory was familiar territory for the Golden Flashes, who have now won 11 contests in a row.
Adalyn McIntosh was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over nine innings while giving up five earned runs off seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with one run and one RBI.
