Basketball Recap: Middleton Comes Up Short

Middleton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were beaten by the Newsome Wolves 77-37. If the Tigers were looking for revenge after losing 65-36 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

When it comes to explaining why Middleton lost, don't look at Sherrick Oliver. Despite the final result, he posted 17 points. Darrion Marchman was another key player, putting up eight points.

Middleton's loss dropped their record down to 1-18. As for Newsome, their victory bumped their record up to 21-2.

Middleton didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 96-70 defeat against Sumner on the 27th. As for Newsome, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 40-39 loss against Wharton on the 28th.
