Softball Preview: Hiram Hornets vs. Cass Colonels
Hiram hasn't had much luck against Cass recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Hiram Hornets will be staying on the road to face off against the Cass Colonels at 5:30 p.m. Hiram will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
Hiram is headed into the contest fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They lost 18-7 to Cedartown on Tuesday.
Isabella Lonergan made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-3. That run was she's first for the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Preseleigh Kimbrell, who scored two runs and stole a base.
Meanwhile, Cass entered their tilt with Pepperell with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They had just enough and edged the Dragons out 7-6.
Hiram's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Cass, their win ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-2.
Hiram might still be hurting after the 17-1 loss they got from Cass in their previous meeting back in October of 2023. Can Hiram avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
