Baseball Recap: McPherson Bullpups vs. Mulvane Wildcats

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Blue Valley Southwest, McPherson was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They never let the Mulvane Wildcats onto the board and left with a 3-0 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as McPherson also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2023.

Logan Beede tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out ten over 5.2 innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive pitching appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Carter Bengtson, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Brody Seidl, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

McPherson's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-6. As for Mulvane, their loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 9-3-2.

McPherson will take on Andale at TBD on Monday. McPherson is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1 runs per game this season. As for Mulvane, they will head out on the road to take on Andover Central on Wednesday. Mulvane's pitching crew has only allowed 1.7 runs per game this season, so Andover Central's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
