Football Game Preview: Marais des Cygnes Valley vs. Wakefield

On Friday Wakefield take on Marais des Cygnes Valley at 7:00 PM. Marais des Cygnes Valley will need to watch out since Wakefield have now posted big point totals in their last three contests.

Wakefield suffered a grim 44-66 defeat to Centre last Friday. Wakefield got a solid performance out of senior Skylur Merritt, who threw 4 TDs and picked up 87 yards on the ground; unfortunately, it just wasn't enough for the victory. Merritt has now scored at least one touchdown in the past five games.

Meanwhile, things haven't been easy for Marais des Cygnes Valley, and their contest last Friday only extended their streak of losses to six. They took a serious blow against Hartford, falling 6-54. The state rankings had actually given Marais des Cygnes Valley a slight edge heading into the game, making this hurt that much more.
