Recap: Blue Valley Southwest Timberwolves vs. Gardner-Edgerton Trailblazers
If the Blue Valley Southwest Timberwolves were feeling good off their 69-23 takedown of the Lawrence Free State Firebirds on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Blue Valley Southwest took a 58-43 bruising from Gardner-Edgerton on Tuesday. Blue Valley Southwest lost against Gardner-Edgerton in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 55-40 score last time.
When it comes to explaining why Blue Valley Southwest lost, one person who can't be blamed is Ashley Chaput. Despite the final result, she scored 12 points along with eight rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Chaput has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Teegan Vietti, who scored three points.
Blue Valley Southwest's defeat dropped their record down to 2-1. As for Gardner-Edgerton, their win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Blue Valley Southwest will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Pembroke Hill at 10:00 a.m. on January 6, 2024. Gardner-Edgerton will be home for the holidays to greet Olathe North at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Olathe North focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 last Friday.
