Softball Recap: Cox Mill Comes Up Short

Cox Mill was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 13-1 to the South Iredell Vikings. The Chargers were not able to make up for their loss to the Vikings from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Cox Mill saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Evie Flores, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Cox Mill's defeat dropped their record down to 1-13. As for South Iredell, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cox Mill will venture away from home to challenge West Cabarrus at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Chargers are facing the Wolverines at the right time seeing as the Wolverines are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for South Iredell, they will head out to square off against Hough at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The Huskies will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something the Vikings surely won't give up without a fight.
