Basketball Recap: Nebraska Lutheran Skates Past Dorchester with Ease

A well-balanced attack led Nebraska Lutheran over Dorchester in every quarter on their way to victory on Thursday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Nebraska Lutheran Knights blew the Dorchester Longhorns out of the water with a 66-27 final score. The Knights pushed the score to 54-21 by the end of the third, a deficit the Longhorns had no chance of recovering from.

Nebraska Lutheran's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lukas Worster, who went 6 of 13 en route to 16 points and five steals. Worster has become a key player for Nebraska Lutheran: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least five steals, but 4-8 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Bob Papik, who posted 14 points and five boards.

Despite the defeat, Dorchester had strong showings from Owen Vyhnalek, who scored 11 points and five rebounds, and Chase Tachovsky, who had five points and three steals. What's more, Tachovsky also posted a 67% field goal percentage, which is the highest he's posted since back in December of 2024.

The victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 7-9. As for Dorchester, they dropped their record down to 1-17 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Nebraska Lutheran has already played their next match, a 64-38 defeat against McCool Junction on the 7th. As for Dorchester, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 65-21 loss against Twin River on the 7th.
