Basketball Game Preview: Walnut Mustangs vs. Diamond Bar Brahmas

The Walnut Mustangs will venture away from home to take on the Diamond Bar Brahmas at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Walnut has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 186 points over their last three matchups.

Last Thursday, Walnut strolled past Bonita with points to spare, taking the game 56-39.

Isaiah Leon had an outrageously good game as he went 9 for 13 on his way to 20 points in addition to seven boards and four steals. That's the most points he has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Myles Wainwright, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 11 points.

Meanwhile, Diamond Bar was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Thursday as they fell 65-61 to Ayala. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (58), the Brahmas still had to take the loss.

Walnut pushed their record up to 14-6 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Diamond Bar, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season.

Walnut won a contest that couldn't have been any closer in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, slipping by Diamond Bar 57-56. Will Walnut repeat their success, or does Diamond Bar have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
