Soccer Recap: Boardman Victorious

Boardman was not the first on the board on Thursday, but they got there more often. They won by a goal and slipped past the Chardon Hilltoppers 2-1. The win was all the more spectacular given Boardman's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio soccer rankings (they are ranked 289th, while Chardon are ranked 117th).

Boardman's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-5-1. As for Chardon, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-3 record.

Looking ahead, Boardman will look to defend their home pitch on Monday against Canfield at 7:00 p.m. This will be Boardman's first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Chardon, they will square off against Lake at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
